Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using AvA Type 1 (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

For Minors: If you are under 18 years of age, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use this App. Parents and guardians accept these Terms on behalf of their children.

Description of Service

AvA Type 1 is an educational application designed to teach children and families about Type 1 diabetes management through:

• Interactive educational games
• Simulated glucose monitoring
• Practice food logging
• Carbohydrate counting exercises
• Optional Bluetooth-enabled stuffed animal companion

All features in the app, including:

• Glucose readings
• Insulin calculations
• Carb counts
• IOB (Insulin on Board) values
• COB (Carbs on Board) values

Are SIMULATED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY and do not reflect real medical data.

Professional Medical Advice Required

ALWAYS:

• Consult qualified healthcare professionals for diabetes management
• Use FDA-approved medical devices for actual glucose monitoring
• Follow your doctor's treatment plan
• Seek immediate medical attention for emergencies
• Verify all medical information with healthcare providers

NEVER:

• Make treatment decisions based on this app
• Use simulated values for real insulin dosing
• Delay seeking medical care
• Replace prescribed medical devices with this app

Parental Supervision

This app is designed for children with Type 1 diabetes and their families. Parents and guardians should:

• Supervise children's use of the app
• Ensure children understand this is educational only
• Monitor app usage and learning progress
• Discuss app content with children

User Responsibilities

By using AvA Type 1, you agree to:

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

Restrictions

You may NOT:

• Reverse engineer or decompile the App

Bluetooth Functionality (Optional)

If using the stuffed animal companion feature:

• Bluetooth must be enabled on your device
• You are responsible for your Bluetooth device
• We are not responsible for Bluetooth connection issues
• You can disable Bluetooth access at any time in iOS Settings
• Bluetooth data is stored locally and not transmitted to us

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation

Limitation of Damages

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR:

• Medical complications or health issues
• Decisions made based on app simulations
• Lost profits or data
• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Personal injury or death

YOU ASSUME ALL RISK associated with use of this educational app.

You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

Indemnification
