AvA Type 1 ("we", "our", or "the App") is a pediatric diabetes education application designed to help children and families learn about Type 1 diabetes management through interactive games and simulations. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

AvA Type 1 does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Specifically:

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All app data is stored locally on your device only and includes:

App Preferences: Theme selection and display settings
Bluetooth Connection Status: If using the optional stuffed animal companion feature

Never leaves your device
Is not backed up to our servers (we don't have servers)
Is deleted when you uninstall the app

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

AvA Type 1 is designed for children under 13 and their families. We take children's privacy seriously:

Parental Control: Parents can delete all app data by uninstalling the app

Bluetooth Permissions

If you use the optional stuffed animal companion feature:

Purpose: Connect to a Bluetooth-enabled stuffed animal for glucose alerts
Data: Only basic connection status is stored locally
Control: You can disable Bluetooth access in iOS Settings at any time
No Transmission: Bluetooth data is not transmitted beyond the local device connection

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Your data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
We recommend enabling device encryption (enabled by default on iOS)
No internet transmission means no interception risk
Data is isolated to the app's sandbox

Medical Information Disclaimer

Important: AvA Type 1 is an educational tool only, not a medical device:

Simulated glucose readings are NOT real medical data
Do not use this app for actual diabetes management decisions
Always consult healthcare professionals for medical advice
The app does not replace blood glucose monitoring or insulin therapy

AvA Type 1 does not integrate with any third-party services, including:

No crash reporting
No advertising networks
No social media integrations
No cloud backup services
