Carb Ratio (I:C) How many grams of carbs does 1 unit of insulin cover?

Correction Factor (ISF) How many mg/dL does 1 unit of insulin lower blood sugar?

Carb Counting Method Choose how you count carbs. Ask your healthcare team which method they recommend for you.

Net Carbs (Total - Fiber)

Subtract fiber from total carbs. Common in the U.S. Theory: fiber doesn't raise blood sugar significantly.
Example: 20g total carbs - 3g fiber = 17g net carbs

Total Carbs (No Subtraction)

Use all carbs without subtracting fiber. More common internationally. More conservative approach.
Example: 20g total carbs = 20g to dose for
